ABOUT Vanessa

Emotionally Focused, Compassionate, and Collaborative

Vanessa’s approach is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) — a research-backed method that focuses on emotional connection and attachment.

In every session, she helps clients slow down reactive patterns, understand unmet needs, and develop new ways of relating built on empathy, respect, and secure attachment.

Therapy is not about blame — it’s about understanding what’s beneath the surface and building a new foundation for lasting connection.

ABOUT Vanessa

Vanessa Sutera, MA, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist is a compassionate and empathic therapist dedicated to supporting individuals and couples as they navigate emotional, relational, and sexual challenges. With a calm, attuned presence and deep respect for each client’s lived experience, Vanessa creates a safe and collaborative space for growth, healing, and connection.

Certified by the American Association of Couples and Sex Therapists (AACAST) and has advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Vanessa specializes in working with couples seeking to rebuild trust, deepen emotional intimacy, and improve sexual fulfillment. She helps clients address concerns such as low desire, arousal difficulties, painful intercourse, and difficulty achieving orgasm, all within a framework that honors each partner’s vulnerability and emotional needs.

Vanessa also works with individuals facing issues related to trauma, life transitions, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and complex family dynamics. Her integrative approach is grounded in evidence-based modalities, including psychodynamic theory, EFT, and trauma-informed care.

A conversant Spanish speaker and culturally sensitive clinician, Vanessa brings warmth, curiosity, and clarity to her work. She believes therapy is most effective when clients feel deeply understood and empowered, and she is passionate about guiding them toward greater authenticity, self-trust, and relational fulfillment.
